Can you assign a song as a ringtone on the IPhone?
It only gives you the option to assign the ringtone given and that you cannot use a song as a ringtone?
There any other way of doing this?
Answer:
Ventones
go there and create your own ringtone for free
you can select which part of the song you want as your ringtone and they send the ringtone to your phone..
Provided you've turned a song from your itunes library into a ringtone, and it's no longer than 30 seconds, you can use it as a ringtone, yes. Otherwise no. You're not restricted to the boring ones they provide you with, but you do need to know how to turn songs from your library into a ringtone in the first place. You can't just use any song on your phone as a ringtone, if it hasn't been turned into one.
Yes but only 30 seconds of it and only after it has been converted I use iRinger as it lets you edit the song to get the bit I want as a ring tone and then converts it and puts it into your iTunes "ring tone" folder so that when you next sync the ring tone is there to use.

u just need to convert the song to an m4r file for the iphone to recognise it as a ringtone.
you can do this in Garage Band really easily if you have a Mac…
Alternatively you can buy apps in the App store (some are free but expire) to do this for you.. have a look in the App store. hope that helps. x
just follow the instruction at http://www.tuaw.com/2007/11/11/itunes-7-5-and-iphone-1-1-2-return-custom-ringtones/
